An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an analytic psychotherapist to join our Trust. The post holder will join the multi disciplinary team working in the Community Mental Health Teams and will take a role in delivering high quality and evidence-based therapies including psychodynamic/psychoanalytic psychotherapy, Mentalization Based Therapy and Group Analysis. Successful candidates who are not MBT qualified must be willing to complete the training. You will be supported in your work by a range of psychological therapists and wider colleagues in the MDT as well as strong operational support to work as a member of the multi disciplinary team bringing psychological understanding to complex care as well as specialist therapy.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be a qualified and experienced Psychodynamic/Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist or Psychoanalyst, Mentalization Based Therapist or Group Analyst who has completed a recognised training and is registered with a professional body such as UKCP or BPC. They will also be experienced working with adults with complex mental health needs and familiar with working through a trauma informed lens to understand what has happened to people and ways to alleviate their distress.

An additional training in Mentalisation-based Therapy is desirable in order to join in delivering a full programme of MBT alongside analytic therapy. Successful candidates who are not already MBT qualified must be willing to complete the training. We welcome innovation, creativity and holistic ways of working to meet the needs of our diverse communities. Adaptations to analytic technique and a willingness to offer consultations, brief and time limited work as well as longer term work are an essential requirement for the breadth of work with complex CMHT presentations and to develop skills such as supervision/ consultation, delivering reflective practice groups and working with interpreters.

Qualifications

Essential

Experience
