Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners- NHS Talking Therapies Wigan
A fantastic opportunity has arisen to appoint band 5 Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners on permanent contracts within the Wigan Talking Therapies division.
Talking Therapies Wigan is a well-established service that has a history of high performance in the Talking Therapy sector and a reputation for providing various opportunities for staff to develop and maintain their own wellbeing. We pride ourselves on clinical excellence and to this end we provide one full session per week of protected CPD time for our staff as well as providing high quality supervision and guidance.
Situated in the North West of England, the service covers Wigan and Leigh area, and affords good transport links to both Manchester and Liverpool.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work within Talking Therapies Wigan to provide low-intensity cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) interventions to people experiencing common mental health problems.
The successful applicants will join an experienced team and benefit from close support of the management team and guidance of our Senior PWP's. You will be employed within the Greater Manchester Mental Health Trust and will therefore benefit from being part of a professional organisational structure within a large Foundation Trust and part of a more local integrated network of mental health and wellbeing services.

Qualifications
Essential
- Educated to degree standard in a subject enabling the post holder to demonstrate psychological mindedness, e.g. psychology, social sciences or health. Recognized PWP qualification, e.g. Post Graduate Certificate in Advanced Practice Interventions for Mental Health (APIMH) or equivalent Accredited with BABCP/BPS
Desirable
- Diploma or Masters in APIMH or equivalent.
Experience
Essential
- Evidence of competent delivery of low intensity CBT for Common Mental Health Disorders Worked in a service where agreed targets in place and has demonstrated good clinical outcomes
Desirable
- Experience of delivering groups for Common Mental Health Disorders Evidence of engaging groups traditionally underrepresented in IAPT services
