The North West London Virtual Hospital (NWLVH) is recruiting a band 7 team leader to join us providing virtual care to patients. Our mixed team of nurses, AHPs & admin staff is based at St Charles Hospital and undertakes remote monitoring of patients from across all 4 NWL acute hospitals. We cover 19 pathways including cardiology, respiratory, maternity & acute medicine and are developing more.

Virtual wards as a substitute for inpatient care, as well as long term remote monitoring pathways, are being established across the country. This is a great opportunity to be part of a move away from traditional models of care, towards a more sustainable future within the NHS. This is a novel and evolving service and therefore flexibility and a sense of humour are essential. In return, we offer a flexible, fun working environment, with a flat hierarchy and a commitment to shared decision making.

The B7s are responsible for day to day operational leadership of the service including ensuring quality of care, safe staffing, adherence to policies, business continuity and liaison with other teams. They also provide clinical supervision and technical advice and troubleshooting. Management activities may include audit, incident investigation, pathway development or teaching. In addition the successful applicant will be asked to line manage a small team, taking responsibility for staff development and appraisal, sickness and performance management.

Main duties of the job

To manage the full remote monitoring team to include annual appraisal, staffing rotas, performance and sickness management, recruitment and selection and the supervision of students
