We have an exciting opportunity in our Digital team for a Project Manager. This is a great opening for someone with project experience that wants to join Dorset Healthcare Projects & Programmes.
We are looking for someone who has great communications skill and is experienced in utilising project management methodologies to work as a key member of a dynamic team of project staff. Our IM& T Programme delivers a broad range of digital projects and makes the most of modern technology to transform services enabling the organisation to become more efficient and effective.
We are a very flexible team who actively promote and undertake smarter working which means we are able to offer remote working in this role however your contracted base of work would be in Dorset and there is an expectation for all of our staff to be available on site as and when required. This may involve attending on site meetings, running workshops and being on site during deployments, some of these can take weeks being on site every day. This should be taken into consideration before applying.
Main duties of the job
Reporting to a Project Team Manager you will be responsible for the management of project delivery from initiation to testing and handover. The successful candidate will be proactive and approachable with a good eye for detail and the ability to quickly form good working relationships including stepping up for the Project Team Manager during absence.As a key player in projects, you will be keen to develop your own skills promoting continual personal improvement.
Managing all aspects of project delivery, a Project Manager is expected to have ownership of a wide range of project documentation across multiple projects which will require focus and the ability to prioritise your workload. A good understanding of the culture around adoption of technology is advantageous.
All of our Project Delivery Teams work to tight timescales and have robust processes around project documentation, working within pre-defined workstreams. A Project Manager will demonstrate an ability to use project management techniques to deliver achievable benefits and following strict guidelines such as information governance and clinical safety. The ability to bring the right people together to deliver successful change is paramount while appreciating operational pressures have an impact on capacity and resource.
The Project Manager will be expected to support the Project Team Manager in the development of other team members.
