Brent Integrated Care Partnership has a number of exciting opportunities available, supporting the borough based partnership to deliver its objectives in a changing and evolving health and care landscape. We have 11 roles available, hosted by CNWL but working as part of a wider partnership of health and care organisations in Brent.

Main duties of the job

The purpose of this post will be to work with the programme director and programme managers within an established health and care partnership to contribute to the delivery of a far reaching change programme across NHS physical and mental health services and those for people with neurodiversity and learning difficulties, children's educational and social care and the voluntary sector. The programme will have a particular focus on:
  • The advancement of paediatric hubs within the borough
  • Special school nursing demand and capacity and working with the NWL team to develop a business case
  • Integration of speech and language therapy across the NHS and the council
  • SEND agenda and preparation for inspections
  • CAMHS access and in particular remedying waiting times for ASD and ADHD
  • Working with the ICB to develop business cases for service gap (such as enuresis)
  • Developing the THRIVE agenda for CYP mental health

The successful candidate will work to improve the delivery of operational services, processes and systems. Supporting and involving operational managers in the delivery of a transformation programme that improves the performance against key system metrics and outcomes for CYP and their parents/ guardians who use children's services.

The successful candidate will take a lead role on developing robust processes and procedures and ensure that information on good practice and organisational learning is widely available.

Because we want the roles to be available to people from a range of different professional backgrounds, these roles are being advertised in CNWL and at Brent Council. The roles will be based at Brent Civic Centre in Wembley, and will involve 3 days working in the office per week, with home working available for the other days.

Job responsibilities


Service Improvement
  • Lead and take accountability for the delivery of projects related to service improvement within childrens services this will include for example service specific areas as outlined in the
  • To embed workforce change into all improvement initiatives, supporting managers to identify and source appropriate OD & LD interventions.
  • Oversee the production of programme documentation, including programme plans and reporting templates, including documentation for relevant committees and working groups.
  • Lead research into additional external sources of funding to support the transformation objectives aligned to the programme
  • Develop and implement practical ways of improving the quality and speed of communications from the programme to providers, staff and wider partners.
  • Ensure that methods of measurement and KPIs for the programme are established and maintained, and to contribute to the wider system-level dashboard development work being undertaken by the Head of Health Evidence and Insight.

  • Keeping up to date with major developments and learning within childrens services and health and across the integrated care system to ensure the changes within services will produce improved user experience and outcomes.
  • Ensure current understanding of the main business processes, procedures and systems that support the relevant sector to provide high quality advice to operational managers on methods and approaches to make improvements.

    Education and Qualifications


    • Educated to degree level in relevant subject or equivalent level of experience of working at a similar level in specialist area Further training or significant experience in project management, financial management or supporting change management processes
    • Experience and understanding of evaluating and measuring the performance of health services. Experience in communications and stakeholder management


    • Comprehensive knowledge of project management and/or health information systems development
    • Workforce development knowledge and experience
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Project ECDL
    • Previous experience in similar role in public sector
    • A good understanding of the health and social care environment and roles and responsibilities within it



    • Working collaboratively across organisational boundaries to drive sustainable continuous service improvement
    • Supporting effective delivery of service/business plans to meet performance targets, managing and mitigating risk
    • Developing practical, innovative and creative approaches to service improvement securing ownership and commitment to key objectives across professional staff teams and building capacity and capability to deliver
    • Working effectively with stakeholders and partners and building positive cross sector relationships in support of key objectives
    • Experience in adult social care, health or transformation development work

    • Organisational skills to plan and prioritise performance and improvement work programmes and multiple projects to deliver results to time and within budget, managing risk and resolving barriers to success.
