Main duties of the job

The Planned care division is seeking an exceptional Assistant Operational Manager. The successful candidate will be focusing on creating the best possible experience for our patients and our staff. If you understand business planning, RTT, can solve a staffing challenge, and relish working with front line clinical staff to improve our services, we may have the role for you!

You should have an undergraduate degree, or be in the process of gaining one, and experience with line managing staff.

Person Specification



  • Educated to degree level in a relevant subject area Plus Prince 2 or similar project management training
  • Advanced use of IT packages or equivalent experience.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office packages
  • Knowledge of marketing methodologies
  • Formal business or management training to NVQ level 4 or equivalent
  • Experience of report writing
  • Proven track record of successful implementation of complex and multi-stranded projects.
  • Able to travel, including to mainland if necessary
  • Leadership skills
  • Ability to manage and prioritise conflicting workloads to meet deadlines
