North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust is an acute district general hospital based in North London that serves the community in Enfield, Haringey and beyond. We run a 7 day service in the General Ultrasound department which has 5 rooms at the North Mid Site (including a vascular room). The Obs and Gynae Department at North Mid has 9 scan rooms (plus 2 additional rooms in Women's Ambulatory Day Unit and Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit) that are open Monday to Saturday.

The service is run by a friendly team of 16 sonographers who rotate to both the General and Obs and Gynae departments. We wish to back-fill a vacant post. The successful candidates would be expected to participate in the weekend and evening rota, however a degree of flexibility is possible with many of our Sonographers working compressed hours to allow a 3 or 4 day working week.

If you think this might be an opportunity that you would be interested in then please email Edwin Ruhinda, Ultrasound Superintendent, to arrange a time to chat edwin.ruhinda@nhs.net

About us

North Mid is part of North Central London integrated care system - consisting of the NHS and Local authority organisations in Camden, Islington, Barnet, Enfield and Haringey. As with other ICS's, we are working increasingly closely with partners and indeed many of our financial and performance objectives are measured at this system level. Whilst all organisations remain as standalone, statutory bodies we have an ICS infrastructure for making shared decisions and agreeing shared approaches.

We are proud of our staff and want to ensure their training allows them to provide excellent clinical care. We are also a training unit for medical students from UCL and St George's University Grenada, and for nursing and midwifery students from Middlesex and City Universities.
