We have an exciting opportunity for an individual who will work collaboratively across the Trust to deliver a programme of initiatives that encompass all elements of workforce projects.

As an integral member of the Strategic Workforce Team and line managing the Workforce Projects Assistant, the post holder will be a key driver of change with a proactive and pragmatic approach to all things related to our people

The post holder will be required to understand and continually improve our approach to policy review and refresh, ensuring that as a team we create a suite of resources and materials that are high quality, professional and truly user friendly for our stakeholders and customers

Using the annual work plan, the post holder will be expected to deliver on transformational change programmes showing innovation in our initiatives which ultimately support our people to feel truly engaged

With experience and knowledge of workforce related expertise, the post holder will assist senior colleagues with the development and delivery of the Workforce and OD Directorate's workforce strategy and action plans.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be expected to provide a comprehensive customer service to internal and external stakeholders in relation to the provision of effective workforce projects. Implementing, reviewing and analysing feedback mechanisms that support positive improvement for all things workforce project related and to act as a subject matter expert in relation to HR/workforce.

To understand and own the internal processes and governance arrangements in relation to the review and writing of workforce related policies, procedures, guidelines and toolkits workingcollaboratively to review and write high quality professional and supportive workforce related policies, procedures and guidance

To ensure delivery, expansion and continuous improvement of our reward and recognition initiatives including management of our staff benefits portal

Deliver the staff survey programme across the Trust working in partnership with our survey provider to deliver the annual National Staff Survey and quarterly Pulse Surveys reporting on response rates and delivering the results when they are received.

Use a range of data sources to draft comprehensive reports on turnover and exit information to inform recruitment and retention strategies

To work in partnership with other areas of the Workforce and OD Directorate to create a suite of high quality resources and materials that underpin the key messages within the policies, procedures and guidance

Person Specification

Qualifications and Knowledge

Essential

  • Educated to Degree/Post Graduate level in human resources or equivalent specialist area equivalent knowledge and experience in HR
  • Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development up to or including Graduate level or equivalent experience/working knowledge as described above working in a complex HR function
  • Up to date and working knowledge of employment law, with ability to translate to HR policy and practice for specialist area
  • Be able to provide specialist HR advice and technical support within designated service area(s)


Desirable

  • Knowledge of NHS agenda, funding streams and wider healthcare economy


Experience

Essential

  • Experience of drafting briefing papers and documents including the delivery of presentations up to executive level
  • Experience of implementing new innovations and change projects across a complex organisation


Desirable

  • Experience of working on complex projects in a support or lead capacity


Skills and Competencies

Essential

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and negotiate at local level and communicate effectively
  • Ability to work to tight and challenging deadlines, managing complex and multiple pieces of work
