We are offering an exciting opportunity to support the delivery of care for Eating Disorders within the Emotional Wellbeing and Mental Health Care Group for under 18s in Cardiff and Vale.
The EW& MH Care Group is driving forward the transformational agenda for CAMH services in Wales with the development of existing and additional teams, including the Eating Disorder team.
We are looking for an enthusiastic psychiatrist with an interest in service development and a desire to help service users and families. An interest to develop knowledge in the field of eating disorders is required.
You will provide specialist medical & psychiatric assessment and management, to contribute to formulation & diagnosis, and the delivery of care.
You will have experience in carrying a service user caseload, including assessing service users with complex needs and supporting families with care planning within Eating Disorder services.
Consultation, and support for other members of the multi-disciplinary team will be key aspects of the role, as well as working with health, education and social care. Supported in this role by a Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist will be available. Competencies and an interest in the Eating Disorders would be ideal.

Main duties of the job
- Provide with senior colleagues a service in the speciality to the hospitals so designated, with responsibility for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of illness and promotion of health.
- Providing psychiatric input to the Eating Disorders Team.
- Building on strong communication and pathways with Paediatric colleagues
- Providing diagnostic assessment for Eating Disorders if required
- Treatment of young people with Eating Disorders, supervision of staff and students
- Maintain CPD
- Provide informal teaching to placement students during clinics.
- Undertake the administrative duties associated with the care of patients and the administration of the department.
- Attend departmental meetings
- Co-operate with local management in the efficient running of services.
- Ensure that arrangements are in place for adequate staff to be available in relation to the treatment and care of patients.

- Full GMC/GDC registration with a licence to practice
