An exciting opportunity has arisen for a hardworking, forward thinking, proactive and motivated individual to join the Gastroenterology & Hepatology Care Group as an Assistant Service Manager.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will play a pivotal role in the operational leadership of our Gastroenterology and Hepatology services.

With line management responsibility for a team of admin and clerical staff they will work closely with the clinical teams to ensure the delivery of key national targets in relation to the efficient delivery of high quality services.

They will also be given the opportunity to take the lead on specific initiatives to modernise and transform services. We are looking foran individual with excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to work autonomously.

The successful applicant must be able to lead and motivate teams with a high degree of self-motivation and have excellent IT skills.

Person Specification



  • 1.2Must have GCSE level C or above in Maths and English or


  • 2.4.1Previous experience in an operational or project management role



  • 2 or more years' experience in a senior administrative or junior management role, within an NHS setting.


  • Previous staff management and financial management.
