The Trust's Engineering Department are seeking Maintenance Specialists, with experience in engineering and building services, to join our plumbing and water treatment team.
The successful candidate will have up-to-date knowledge of current plumbing and water safety guidance and regulations.They will also provide a plumbing service to the Engineering Department and other directorates across the Trust.
The post holder will need to manage and balance competing priorities and will have knowledge of current relevant legislation, health and safety, and good working practices.
The current working pattern for this post is 8:00 to 16:00, Monday to Friday.

Main duties of the job
Day-to-day plant maintenance is required, as directed by the team manager or engineering management. The post holder will need to be proactive, self-motivated, and enthusiastic, with the ability to work with the general public.
We are looking for committed, versatile, and flexible members of the team to undertake tasks and delegated work within the Engineering Department. The ability to interact professionally with the general public and our clinical colleagues is a must.
In order to be successful in the role, our team members are required to manage and balance competing priorities and to have knowledge of current plumbing and water regulations and guidance, such as the HTM Suite of guidance documents, especially HTM 04-01 parts A,B,C and D, health and safety best practice and good engineering working practices.

- oRecognised full apprenticeship in relevant trade / NVQ level 3 / BTEC national certificate or equivalent training.
- oSubstantial experience working within this trade.

Previous experience

- oHas the skills to be able to work in pressurised situations such as Power Failures, medical gas failures, mechanical or service failures taking the lead where required.
- oAble to work under own supervision and takes the lead within their relevant discipline working within the various maintenance procedures, guidance and safety standards.
- oExperience of working on a broad range of plant and services. Hot and cold water systems / water treatment and storage. Heating and cooling systems.
Desirable
- Has good experience in health and safety and the ability to lead on this.
- Has worked in a Hospital / health care environment before.
