This post will be based at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells Hospitals and will be a Cross Site role in the heart of Kent. The post is part clinical and part supporting and developing our students and junior staff. Excellent communication skills and experience in dysphagia, tracheostomy, complex communication disorders and videofluoroscopy are desirable. Main duties of the job

Speech and Language Therapy currently sits within the Core Clinical Directorate, within the Therapies Division and is co-located with Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Dietetics on both sites, making easy work of joint working.

You will need to have excellent communication skills, a professional approach to both clinical and administrative duties, be autonomous in dysphagia assessment and management, be well organised and demonstrate a flexible approach in your working. We run a FEES and videofluoroscopy service and experience in instrumental assessments would be desirable but is not essential as training can be provided.

• Degree or post graduate diploma in Speech and Language Therapy
• Registered member of HCPC
• Dysphagia competencies
• Evidence of continuing professional development and reflective practice

Experience/ Knowledge

Essential

• Post graduate experience of working with adults with significant communication and /or swallowing disorders in acute setting.
• Experience of line management including supervision
• Level 3 Videofluroscopy trained
• Level 2 FEES trained
• Multidisciplinary team working
• Strong evidence-based practice
• Demonstrable understanding of local and National policy and clinical governance

Desirable

• Experience of service development, including audit
• Knowledge of advanced level decision-making processes
• Experience of 7/7 working
• Experience providing training and specialist advice to external agencies
