Staff Nurse in the Medical Receiving Unit, County hospital.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Medical Receiving Unit at County Hospital in Stafford. As an SDEC unit we provide timely treatment for patients referred by their GP and also provide follow up for inpatient discharges where appropriate along with supporting the Emergency Department with appropriate walk-in patients.
The unit has a team of ANPs along with medical support.This is a fast paced unit delivering high standards of acute medical care. The successful candidate will have a full, supported induction from our PDN and the opportunity to continue with funded CPD study if required.
This role is based in MRU however there may be occasions where staff are asked to support on AMU if there are staffing pressures.
Main duties of the job
Support with initial assessment of presenting patients including venepuncture and cannulation. Provision of personal care where required. Support with care planning and implementation. You will be expected to provide a holistic approach for all patients under your care whilst still being supported by a senior staff nurse on duty with you.
