As the Associate Director for Patient Safety and Quality you will lead the patient safety and quality agenda at the Trust and be integral in operationalising the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF) and Patient Safety Incident Response Plan (PSIRP). The role requires oversight and management of all Patient Safety Incident Investigations (PSIIs), thematic reviews, risk management and national patient safety alerts. You will be responsible for leading and supporting the organisations patient safety insight, involvement and improvement activity across the organisation and ensuring that systems thinking, human factors understanding and just culture principles are embedded within all patient safety processes. You will also oversee the quality assurance and risk management functions.
Main duties of the job

a) Lead on and provide patient safety expertise/leadership within the organisation demonstrating compassionate leadership, visibility and supporting the continued development of the patient safety culture
b) Lead the patient safety and quality agenda at the Trust and be integral in operationalising the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF) and Patient Safety Incident Response Plan (PSIRP)
c) Provide robust oversight and management of all Patient Safety Incident Investigations (PSIIs), thematic reviews, risk management and national patient safety alerts
d) Responsible for and continually developing the Royal United Hospitals patient safety policy and plan, including sources of insight and improvement
e) Support patient safety improvement, ensuring that systems thinking, human factors understanding and just culture principles are embedded in patient safety processes
