University Hospitals Birmingham ICT Department is one of the largest in the NHS, supporting a diverse staff base of over 24,000 clinical and non-clinical users across 4 main hospital sites and many community and remote locations. We are recruiting an experienced ICT Contracts Manager to work within the Service Assets & Configuration Management (SACM) Team, who will manage day-to-day IT supplier relationships and associated contracts and maintain an overview of contract performance in order to report to the IT Senior Management Team to inform planning and strategic decisions.
The successful candidate will lead from an IT perspective in negotiations to resolve contractual and supplier performance issues, championing continual service improvement and driving initiatives that deliver performance improvements and best value for money.
The postholder must be experienced, enthusiastic, able to communicate effectively across various stakeholders at all levels, have a great team ethic and a desire to succeed.
Working hours are 37.5 hours a week, ideally Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm, but with flexibility to work from home. However, some site-based meetings will be essential.
Main duties of the job
The postholder will be the first point of contact for suppliers from a contracts management perspective. They will be responsible for structuring, scheduling, and attending regular service review meetings with suppliers and other members of the IT Service Department, so that good relationships are maintained, and service objectives are met. They will maintain a record of performance against KPIs for each supplier and will work closely with them to identify service improvement opportunities and to overcome any obstacles that are impacting suppliers' ability to deliver services.
They will work closely with senior managers to maintain the Supplier and Contracts database. They will assist the ICT Contracts & Software Assets Manager with the in-year contract management process for IT contracts, including the work programme for contract technical and performance meetings and the annual contract review and negotiation process, delivering key components of the contract review and negotiation work plan.
