We are currently recruiting a Band 6 Dental Nurse Manager to manage our undergraduate nurse team based at the Royal London Dental Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of 17 nurses. The nursing team consists of 3 senior dental nurses and 14 dental nurses. The role involves working collaboratively with QMUL who work closely with the trust to provide training for our dental students.
This is an exciting role for someone looking to expand their experience and be part of a teaching hospital providing a first-class service to our patients.
Hours of work will be 9am to 5.30pm with an hour for lunch. The post will be a split of 80/20 clinical and admin.
We are looking for well-motivated conscientious Dental Nurses who would enjoy the challenge of working alongside a wide range of professionals and multidisciplinary teams.

We have services running in our outreach centres and the successful candidate may be asked to work at any one of these sites . These clinics are in Leytonstone, Stratford & Isle of Dogs.
Main duties of the job
o The post holder will provide leadership to the Dental Nurse team on a daily basis, inspiring them with strong leadership, excellent clinical skills and a visible and exemplary commitment to patient-centeredness.
o The post holder will work collaboratively with the Lead Dental Nurse and the Matron to escalate department and staffing issues where appropriate.
o The post holder will carry out clinical dental nursing on a minimum of two days per week, ensuring credibility with the nursing team and role modelling excellent clinical nursing skills.
o The post holder will line manage the Senior Dental Nurses and an agreed number of Dental Nurses on the department.
o As well as line management of Dental Nurses the post holder will work with closely with the Senior Dental Nurses to delegate several key operational tasks to the SDNs in the day-to-day operational management of clinical services.
o The post holder will represent their department at nurse management meeting and the clinical governance group and will be expected to take responsibly for delivering agreed actions with nursing teams.
o The post holder will deputise for the Lead Dental Nurse in her absence.
o The post holder will manage several required operational tasks for their department, as set out by the Management Team. This will include, as a minimum, responsibility for ordering stock and ensuring maintenance and repair of equipment.

- NEBDN and/or an appropriate professional qualification or equivalent.
