Band 5- Senior Rota Coordinator, Women's and Children's CSU's

37.5 hours per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Rota Coordinator role within the Women's and Children's Clinical Service Unit's at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

You will work in an administrative and managerial team liaising with Consultants, junior doctors and the wider teams.

This dynamic role involves the planning and coordination of medical staff in the Women's and Children's CSU's. This will include rota management, participation in recruitment and selection, training, performance management and day to day management of all medical workforce rotas.

Main duties of the job

This role will lead on strengthening and developing further administrative practice within the CSU's. The post holder must ensure the provision of high quality patient care by efficiently developing, implementing and co-ordinate medical staffing rotas and highlight any requirements for locum cover in a timely manner.

You will be responsible for producing data and reporting on the effectiveness of the rotas, ensuring all absence is recorded accurately and in a timely manner. You will have a daily overview of activities, anticipate problems and autonomously resolve situations expediently.

This job involves working with and supporting the Service Managers within the specialities to provide a comprehensive administration service ensuring adequate cover is provided at all times.

You will have a high standard of communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with staff at all levels. You will have enthusiasm, motivation and the ability to negotiate and influence. We require someone who will ensure we put our patients first to ensure the best patient experience.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to NVQ level 4/BTEC
  • Diploma in Management or other supervisory /management qualification
  • Evidence of on-going personal development


Experience

Essential

  • Demonstrate previous involvement in staff recruitment and selection training and development managing performance and attendance management.
  • Experience of analysing performance data and for identifying ways in which the service can be improved at a service, team and individual level.
  • Experience of rota coordination, in a multi- disciplinary team and of multiple staff groups.
  • Minimum 3 years' administrative experience in the NHS
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to negotiate and influence

  • Strong working knowledge and proficient in the use of Microsoft packages, in particular Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and able to present data in a way that is easy to understand
  • Ability to build working relationships with multi professional teams and across CSU's which support the delivery of the service.
  • Ability to negotiate and influence whilst flexible and approachable
  • Ability to problem-solve, prioritise and to work to deadlines
  • Ability to motivate self, staff and improve individuals and team performance.
  • Able to manage stressful situations and challenge decisions to ensure that patient needs are met.
