Infant Feeding Coordinator South Cumbria & Eden - 15.75 hours per week - maternity leave cover

This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience as an infant feeding co-ordinator covering maternity leave.

The area covered is South Cumbria and Eden linking with the post holder for the West Cumbria and Carlisle to provide Countywide cover between the roles

This is a specialist role which does require the applicant to hold the relevant qualifications as outlined in the job description

The successful candidate could be based within various locations across the Westmorland and Furness footprint.

Main duties of the job

  • Deliver a specialist service to families through referral from Health Visitors, GP's, Child & Family Support Services, other Health Care Professionals and self referral from families
  • Support and work closely with colleagues within NCIC Infant Feeding Network
  • Delivery of the BFI level 3 training and annual updates
  • Support the Child and Family Support services by attending and supporting facilitation of infant feeding groups in each locality. Support CFSS staff with training and provide clinical supervision quarterly

The Trust is committed to safeguarding adults and children therefore if the post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended) the successful candidate(s) will be subject to a criminal records check with the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The cost of the DBS must be met by the successful candidate(s) through salary deduction. DBS charges are as follows if applicable to the post:

Standard Check: �18 + Administration cost of �3.85 = �21.85. Deducted at �6.85 from 1st month salary and �5 deducted from salary over following 3 months.

Enhanced Check: �38 + administration cost of �3.90 = �41.90. Deducted at �11.90 from 1st month salary and �10 deducted from salary over following 3 months.

Qualifications

Essential

  • oRGN/RN Dip HE
  • oRM or RN Children


Desirable

  • oENB 998 Teaching and Assessing in Clinical Practice or equivalent
  • oLeadership training and development.
  • oIndependent Nurse Prescriber statutory recordable qualification
  • IBCLC qualification
  • V100 Nurse Prescriber


Knowledge

Essential

  • oExperience of working with children and families in a community setting
  • oBe up to date with BFI Level 3 and annual update training
  • oExperience of working on own or as part of a team
  • oExperience teaching or presenting in groups
