Are you an ambitious Pharmacy Technician looking for a new and exciting challenge? This is a rare opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician, with experience in education and training, to join our rapidly expanding pharmacy team at South Tees Hospitals.
In this role, you will actively lead and contribute to the education & training strategies for pharmacy staff alongside the current education & training team. Together, you will be responsible for the supervision and high-quality training and development of Pharmacy Technicians, Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technicians, Pharmacy ATOs and Assistants at South Tees Hospitals.
The role will include delivery of local training programmes developed in-house and the facilitation of nationally recognised pharmacy qualifications, including the BTEC Level 3 Diploma in the Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technicians and Level 2 qualifications for support staff, alongside an approved training provider.
Applying candidates should be a motivated and positive individual, with excellent communication skills, be a strong team player, be flexible to change and have confidence to effectively liaise with other health care professionals in a hospital setting.
Main duties of the job
To manage the education, training and development programmes for Pharmacy Technicians and pharmacy support staff within the trust
To continually review the training and development needs of Pharmacy Technicians and support staff
Develop relationships with stakeholders, both within the Trust, regionally and nationally, to develop training programmes in line with national requirements
Deliver inspiring mentorship and offer evolving development opportunities to Pharmacy Technicians, PTPTs and support staff
Line management responsibilities
Undertake dispensing and final accuracy checking duties, following department SOPs
