ADULT AUDIOLOGY + HEARING AID SERVICE
Hillingdon Hospital with Mount Vernon NHS Foundation Trust
Band 5 Audiologist - 37.5 hours per week full time
An opportunity has arisen for a qualified Audiologist to join our friendly and dedicated Adult Hearing Service team working between Mount Vernon and Hillingdon Hospital sites
The main duties of the post will be carrying out routine procedures within the Audiology service such as adult rehabilitation, direct referrals, hearing assessments, hearing aid fittings plus supporting routine ENT clinics.
As well as assisting and supporting the service manager in the continuous improvement of the service, Active involvement in clinical audit service development will be required.
There will be support for personal and professional development.
It is essential you have a BSc in Audiology or BAA equivalent with relevant experience and current RCCP or HCPC registration.
This post is for 37.5 hours per week. Working patterns to a certain extent are flexible and can be arranged to suit the successful applicant. However, the post holder would be required to work at both the Hillingdon and Mount Vernon sites.
There is a hospital shuttle bus available between hospital sites.

Main duties of the job
General:-Provide a comprehensive hearing aid service to all our hearing impaired patients
-Provide a range of audiometric investigations to outpatients.
-Keep up-to-date with professional knowledge and new technology
- Services are moving towards a 7-day service including evenings and weekends
Specific:-- Provide Audiological cover for ENT clinics to carry out Pure Tone Audiometry, Tympanometry, Speech Audiometry tests and other tests as required.
- Provide a comprehensive and efficient direct referral service to patients referred from GPs and hospital consultants including the provision of the full range of NHS hearing aids.
- Provide ongoing assessment, maintenance and rehabilitation for hearing aid users.
- Participate in general departmental audit, research and development

- MSc Audiology or BSc Audiology
- AHCS/ HPC (State registration) or eligible to apply
- Experience in the field of Audiology
- Experience fitting digital hearing aids and using REM
- Knowledge of equipment maintenance and calibration issues.
Desirable
- CPD portfolio
- Experience in using Patient Management System (e.g. Audit Base)
- Experience of electrophysiological diagnostic audiological assessment procedure
- Computer skills e.g. Excel, word processing
- Clinical auditing experience
