An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the School Nursing Team, Hywel Dda University Health Board.
Applications are invited from a dynamic, professional Specialist Community Public Health Nurse - School Nursing, with experience of managing staff within the sphere of children's public health nursing, for a permanent part time (22.5 hours per week) Band 8a Senior Nurse Quality Assurance, School Nursing to cover the three local authority areas of Hywel Dda University Health Board.
The role will require an individual who has the relevant qualifications, confidence and experience of operationally managing staff whilst ensuring robust professional and clinical governance standards are met and maintained by all staff.
The School Nursing and Youth Health Team is currently seeking to develop and expand its services within the Health Board, and is looking for someone with the passion and commitment to lead this work, ensuring that sound professional and clinical governance standards are met and maintained by the staff.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will operationally manage the Team Leaders for the School Nursing Team, and be accountable for the quality of the delivery of these services. They will be a visible leader within the three counties, being a regular presence in areas to demonstrate engagement with staff and service users, providing professional expert support to staff when needed.
The post holder will work closely with the Head of School Nursing and Youth Health Team at the strategic level to future proof the workforce and to further develop skill mix roles for the benefit of all children and young people they support.
The post holder will display a considerable degree of initiative, apply a high degree of confidentiality, possess mature judgement and promote the Health Board Values within School Nursing Team and across their whole area of work.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
