The Elective Orthopaedic team at the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital are a dynamic group that strive for excellence within the care of our planned care patients. We want to find experienced, caring registered nurses who will match the dedication and compassion of our existing teamThis is an exciting and progressive directorate which is continuously adapting to meet and enhance the care provided to our patients: encompassing both the existing orthopaedic ward, Cringleford, and the new Norfolk and Norwich Orthopaedic Centre (NaNOC), we are looking for passionate, driven registered nurses for both of our areas.
Cringleford Ward is a planned care orthopaedic unit that consists of 20 siderooms.NaNOC is a new development, and once opened will had a SDAU area, outpatient clinical space and a 20 bedded ward.
We want all our staff to achieve a balance between work and personal life and understand how important flexible working can be. We welcome applications on a full or part time basis. We currently use a preference rostering system which allows our colleagues to have a say in their shift patterns.

Main duties of the job
As a Registered Nurse at NNUH you should be highly motivated, adaptable and ambitious. We have a highly supportive management team aided by dedicated Clinical Educator to help support you in your development and delivery of the highest standards of nursing care to our elective patients within the department.
The service relies on nurses to take the lead on PRE and POST OPERATIVE inpatient centered care, maintaining high level of ward experience, discharge planning, whilst also driving the flow of the patients and ensuring national targets are met as a team.
Within the development of NaNOC, nurses will also be involved with running a Same Day Admissions Unit, and supporting a dressing and clinical review clinic. The expansion of the Trauma & Orthopaedic services at NNUH will lead to new and exciting projects as well as brilliant advancement, career development, and progression opportunities. Whether you want to specialist routes like becoming an Orthopaedic Nurse Practitioner or down managerial path the opportunity will be open to you!

- To successfully complete the Trusts preceptorship programme and Royal College of Nursing Competency Standards for Emergency Nurses
- Maintain a high standard of nursing care applying evidence-based practice.
Management and Leadership:
- To manage the Emergency Department environment and staffing in the absence of a senior member of staff.
- Effectively assess and delegate workload according to staff competencies in order to meet patient needs.
