We are seeking highly motivated band 5 nurses with experience to join our Oncology inpatient ward team at UCLH. We are looking for professionals who are enthusiastic, dedicated and whom have excellent communication skills. You will be welcomed into our large oncology multi-disciplinary team and be supported to develop as a band 5 nurse. The support provided will include preceptorship, peer support and training with our clinical practice facilitators.
At UCLH we provide highly specialised cancer care for oncology patients with a wide range of solid tumours, we are one of two cancer centres in London offering specialised care to sarcoma patients. As you develop in this role you will be trained in medicine management to include intravenous drug administration. You will also be trained on effective aseptic technique, venepuncture & cannulation, catheterisation, central venous access, chest drains and many other skills. We are also supported with specialist staff to support and provide training with palliative and end of life care.

Funding is available for diploma and degree pathways within the speciality alongside in house ward based teaching sessions and an internal rotational programme is offered.

You will need to have a minimum of 6 months post registration experience within an acute healthcare setting. Oncology or Haematology experience is desirable, but not essential as successful candidates will receive local orientation and ongoing speciality training and support.
