Band 5 Staff Nurse - Hopkins Ward (Urology Elective and Emergency ward)
Hopkins ward is a 21 bedded urology ward looking for highly motivated, innovative and enthusiastic Band 5 Staff Nurses to join our team.
We care for elective Urology admissions in a fast-paced environment and pride ourselves in striving for excellence in patient experience but also emergency admissions through A& E and our Urology clinic.
We care for a variety of patients undergoing major and minor surgery, and adopt a strong focus on patient safety.
We care for urology patients and have an excellent working relationship with the multi-professional teams with the collective aim of providing excellent patient care.
We have multi-specialty ward rounds daily and host a variety of clinicians engaged in teaching and education ensuring plenty of learning opportunities for nursing staff.
Main duties of the job
All new starters are provided with a period of induction, theoretical and ward-based learning opportunities, and have the support from a designated preceptor in practice.
We work closely with the practice education team who will also provide ward-based support to new staff members.
We are looking for dedicated and dynamic nurses, committed to delivering excellent patient care within a friendly and supportive team.

The post holder is responsible for undertaking and recording comprehensive nursing assessment and planning, delivering and evaluating high standards of evidenced-based nursing care to a diverse group of patients.
Deliver care without direct supervision and be accountable for the care delivered and any omissions of care.
Teach and supervise more junior staff, students and the non-registered nursing workforce.
Be accountable for care or any omissions of care that you delegate to others.
Act as role model, delivering care with empathy and compassion as part of a multidisciplinary team.
