We are looking to recruit a Trainee ACP (Advanced Clinical Practitioner) to The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust. This exciting and challenging role will be part of the non-medical workforce within Surgical services and be part of the wider medical team. This speciality already has many advanced and non- medical practitioners working within this department however, this is the first role of its kind and will encompass a depth and breadth of practice within this speciality. This will include leading on ward-based care, outpatient clinics and developing a speciality procedure skill to help outpatient services on qualification.
Main duties of the job
As a Trainee ACP, you will be part of a wider ACP team on a structured academic and clinical training programme and be expected to gain a full Master's Degree in Advanced Clinical Practice including a non-medical prescribing qualification.
As a Trainee ACP, you will work alongside fellow clinicians to provide care in the Trust and we anticipate that you will have a significant presence clinically and will eventually provide enhanced levels of care.
** Please note that the Masters level qualification for this post will be funded through the apprenticeship levy and therefore the following criteria must be met:

- GCSE Grade 9 - 4 (A* - C) or equivalent in Maths and English Language. *
- Must not be on an Apprenticeship or any other Government funded training.

- NMC registration
- Current Health and Care Professions Council registration (HCPC)
- Extensive post registration experience of which significant experience within Acute care environment at Band 6 level or above
- Evidence of CPD
- Evidence of effective people management and leadership skills
- Ability to work/study at Masters level and complete associated academic qualification for role within a set timeframe.
