We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic radiographers who have pride in their work and are committed to excellent patient care to join our team at Poole Hospital site of the University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to join us on our journey to become the major emergency hospital for Dorset as we plan for the future healthcare needs of our region. These changes will involve a �147m investment in our region's health services and will see considerable development at our site over the next few years.

The post will involve rotating through all areas of the main x-ray department, with participation in the out of hours shift rota based in the Emergency Department.

Successful candidates will transfer to the new BEACH build at the Bournemouth site in 2025 on transfer of acute services.

All Band 5 Radiographers are encouraged to extend and develop their clinical skills and knowledge.

Final year students are welcomed and encouraged to apply. A Part-time post will also be considered.

Main duties of the job

The post will involve rotating through all areas of X-ray which includes general x-ray, fluoroscopy, mobiles, theatre and ED, with participation in the out of hours shift rota based in the Emergency Department.

Our modern, well-equipped X-ray department in Poole has 6 X-ray rooms, 1 Dental room and 1 Fluoroscopy room. We are a reference site for Philips X-ray equipment, with X-ray rooms being a mix of Philips and Samsung kit. We have recently had our Barn theatres built which is currently being used for extensive trauma & orthopaedic surgery.

Person Specification

Qualificatioins

Essential

  • Studying Degree BSc Diagnostic Radiography (result pending)
  • BSc In Radiography or equivalent
  • HCPC Registration (or pending post qualification)


Experience

Essential

  • High level of clinical skills
  • High level of patient care skills


Technical Skills

Essential

  • Excellent radiography ability in general and theatre imaging
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills


Knowledge

Essential

  • Excellent base radiography understanding
  • Understanding of IRMER & IRR


Desirable

  • Current related professional knowledge
