Are you a motivated and passionate nurse who is experienced in working in an innovative, fast-paced chemotherapy setting?
If so we'd love to hear from you. We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic nurse who is ready for a Senior Staff nurse role in our committed, positive and supportive team. The team deliver a range of systemic anti-cancer treatments within our dynamic nurse led service. The main Haematology and Oncology unit and Teenage and Young adult area are based within the Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre, and we also offer a community based service at two satellite centres. As a day case service we open 08:00 -18:00, Monday to Friday.Within these areas we care for and deliver treatment to patients with solid tumours and haematological disorders, through all stages of the cancer journey. We have an expanding service where staff can develop and flourish, while enjoying a positive work-life balance.
Our supportive team-working culture will empower you to build up professional relationships with your patients and their family as you follow closely their progress. Our patients appreciate dealing with a familiar, reassuring face, with an in-depth knowledge of their individual situation and needs. As a senior nurse you will need to have experience and skills in delivering care in this speciality. You will have the opportunity to develop your leadership and managerial skills, whilst also participating in service development.

Main duties of the job
- Demonstrate excellent communication and leadership skills, be actively involved in recruitment and staff development reviews
- Manage patient care according to agreed policies and protocols, taking appropriate action, seeking advice of other members of the multi-disciplinary team as necessary
- Plan and manage staffing levels and skill mix to reflect the workload and meet the needs of the patients
- Actively participate in and facilitate ward or development projects, audits and quality initiatives in collaboration with senior staff to ensure they meet standards and targets for example the safety thermometer and patient experience surveys, and where appropriate suggest any change change to improve standards.
- Assist in the annual appraisal process
- Demonstrate the ability to access up-to-date evidence and critically analyse this to inform care practices
