We are currently recruiting to our Senior Band 6 Occupational Therapy rotation, with a range of rotations in Clinical Specialities across our central Bristol hospitals and Weston General Hospital. In each rotation you will be working in a supportive integrated therapy team, where you will receive a comprehensive training and induction programme. You will have an Occupational Therapy Team Lead, who will mentor and support you with regular supervision and appraisals.
You will have the opportunity to access our in-house training courses and external training courses, and have access to mentoring and coaching for your career development and progression. You will be encouraged to educate students, and be involved in service development, quality improvements and research. Our rotations include Trauma and Orthopaedics, Acute stroke and stroke rehabilitation, Older Persons Rehab including front door, Oncology, Acute Medicine, Critical Care Cardiac and Surgery.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for Occupational Therapists who are keen to gain clinical and leadership experience as a Band 6 within a friendly, forward thinking, and supportive Adult Therapy Service. You must be an effective team player with excellent communication and organisational skills, and have the ability to think outside of the box.

Main duties of the job
We are looking for Occupational Therapists who are keen to gain clinical and leadership experience as a Band 6 within a friendly, forward thinking, and supportive Adult Therapy Service. - Band 6 Occupational Therapists are experienced clinicians - having completed core rotations as a Band 5 Occupational Therapist. The post-holder will act as an autonomous practitioner, providing Occupational Therapy assessment and treatment, and managing their own patient caseload within a speciality team, with the support and mentoring of senior Occupational Therapists.
- They will supervise and train Band 5 Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Technical Instructors and Students as required.
- Band 6 staff will take some responsibility towards the smooth running of the department as requested and can deputise in the absence of the band 7 for some activities.
- Staff will be required to cross-cover during periods of absence.
- The post-holder will work across Bristol Royal Infirmary, St Michaels Hospital, South Bristol Community Hospital and Weston General Hospital.
- The post holder will be required to work shifts including weekends and to participate in the bank holiday rota
