The Wiltshire Talking Therapies service offers support to residents of Wiltshire who may be experiencing common mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, stress and low mood, offering evidence based treatments.

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for the position of Trainee IPT Psychotherapist. This will initially be a band 6 fixed term post, moving to permanent band 7 once training and accreditation is successfully completed. If you are already operating as a band 7 Talking Therapies HI Practitioner and wish to apply, we can match that grade during the training period.

IPT is an evidence based, NICE recommended treatment for depression and focuses on the connection between mood and the relationships that surround us.

You will provide specialist psychological assessments and therapy whilst completing interpersonal psychotherapy training with the Anna Freud Centre. Course details can be found here: Interpersonal Psychotherapy Training | IPT, online psychotherapy course | Anna Freud Centre.

The course provides the first stage in working towards becoming an IPTUK Accredited IPT Practitioner. Following attendance on the course, accreditation requires four cases to be supervised, with recorded sessions reviewed. Each case runs for 16 sessions. The course starts in September 2024 so we are working towards a start date in August. You will need to be able to attend training days in London and be eligible to apply for the IPT course.
