Hampshire Hospitals Foundation Trust considers the Clinical Nurse Specialist role as a keystone to the optimal care of our patients and to the success of our Trust. The delivery of high quality, effective and compassionate care is the most important objective for the organisation. This advanced clinical leadership role therefore has the authority required to deliver the responsibilities and accountabilities outlined in this job description.
The Rheumatology business unit operates across all Trust sites. This includes outpatients in Andover, Alton, Basingstoke and Winchester. This role is to be lead CNS for the cross site Rheumatology service at HHFT covering outpatients, infusion suite and over seeing CNS clinics.
Main duties of the job
The delivery of an outpatient service by the team or area for which you have responsibility. This includes:
Being an expert professional adviser.
Acting as Clinical Lead for the specialist nursing service.
Delivering education to the multi-disciplinary team.
Assessment and treatment of own caseload of patients.
Responsibility for clinical governance within the team.
Ensuring clinical services are delivered to a high quality of care and that all compliance requirements such as CQC and contractual requirements are achieved.
Leading on clinical audit.
Acting as an adviser for the speciality, both internally and externally.
Leading on the assessment of highly complex patients, where factors may be conflicting, requiring high level analysis and interpretation skills and the comparison of a range of options to achieve effective treatment.
Developing the above skill set with the staff who report to you or whom you have a responsibility to train.

- oPost registration qualification(s) in rheumatology or equivalent experience

- oLevel 5 Certificate/Diploma in Management and Leadership, or equivalent
