The North East & North Cumbria (NENC) Integrated Care System (ICS) are looking for a team of experienced Digital Project Managers to successfully deliver projects within the Digital Diagnostics 18-month, nationally funded portfolio of work, aiming to transform diagnostic service delivery across care sectors.

The post holder will be expected to work in partnership with a number of ICS workstreams and providers in engaging with stakeholders to improve access to diagnostics. They will be responsible for the project management and delivery of digital projects under the direction of the Senior Project Manager and Programme Manager, ensuring project outputs are delivered efficiently. A key focus of the role will be to work closely with stakeholders to support them in delivering digital projects and enabling them to progress in a timely manner towards project goals.

The post holder will be required to work alongside the ICS Diagnostic Programme team whilst also integrating with regional Diagnostic teams across the ICS to deliver against the ICS digital diagnostics road map, in respect of operational and project led services.

Main duties of the job

A secondment opportunity would be considered if appropriate.

This post requires varied regional interaction, mainly working with individual Trusts and suppliers to support the delivery of project activities against project/programme priorities, whilst focusing on delivering against the ICS Digital Diagnostics Roadmap and project tracking and reporting.

The successful candidate will provide project management skills and support best practice, whilst following standards, tools and techniques individual to each Trust/implementation team.

They will be responsible for producing timely and accurate project status reports for senior management.

They will be involved in agreeing flows of information within each Trust, via communication with stakeholders and suppliers.

They will be responsible for highlighting potential areas of internal and external activity required to connect various systems and information flow between systems.

Job responsibilities

  • This post holder will be expected to work with a number of ICS workstreams and providers in engaging with stakeholders to improve access to diagnostics by:
  • Direct and effective management of projects as required within time, cost and quality parameters.
  • Contribute towards the delivery of the ICS Digital Diagnostics Workstreams and co-ordinate project inter-dependencies.
  • To make a significant contribution to the aspects of the IT Services strategy, which enables the Trust to meet its business goals and to achieve statutory and business reporting requirements
  • To ensure the timely and accurate production of programme status reports for senior management.
  • Development and delivery of a comprehensive portfolio of work comprising of programmes, projects, technical requests and feasibility studies.
  • Client interaction, including developing a pipeline of work from the client, managing programmes/project priorities with the client, financial tracking and reporting, and project tracking and reporting
  • Cross-activity relationship management.
  • The position will involve a considerable amount of interaction with Diagnostic Teams, colleagues, business groups, IT and external vendors.
  • To make a considerable contribution to the ongoing development of the Trusts IT Change Framework (structure, processes and controls)
  • Promoting the value of the ICS Digital Diagnostics roadmap within the change community, and driving improvements based on experience gathered from business partners. Maturing those disciplines across the organisation ensuring deliverance of a professional, high-quality service.
  • Contributing and developing the ICS Diagnostics overarching programme plan, maintaining alignment to NHS direction and policy.
  • Managing effective interfaces in order to maintain an end-to-end view of programme priorities and direction.
  • Feeds into and updates a register of portfolio risks and issues, including mitigation plans. Ensuring that these are escalated and acted upon effectively.
  • Experience of managing stakeholders and debate, up to Director level.

Person Specification

Qualifications & Education

Essential

  • Be educated to degree level or equivalent level of qualification or experience e.g., IT, Business, Health or have substantial experience in a relevant post.
  • Hold a current recognised project management qualification, preferably PRINCE2 Practitioner or equivalent experience in project management techniques.


Knowledge & Experience

Essential

  • Have experience of managing a project ideally experience of managing a team
  • Have experience of delivering change management technology.
  • Have experience of analysing and forecasting staff and budgets
  • Have experience of inter-agency working involving multiple and diverse partners.
  • Have experience of supporting executive level Project Boards
  • Be competent with the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Have experience of managing multiple complex projects
  • Have a good understanding of Trust policies and procedures.


Desirable

  • Experience of managing projects across organisations of similar size and complexity within or outside of the NHS.
