West Ferry Ward is the Trusts 11 bedded male High Dependency Unit situated in Medium Secure services. Our mission is to provide safe, individualised care and treatment for detained in-patients who are in a disturbed phase of a serious mental disorder or have complex risk and other longer term needs.
We are seeking to recruit suitably qualified, enthusiastic and innovative mental health or learning disability nurse to take up the posts of Clinical Practice Lead - Band 6 within the Forensic Directorate at John Howard Centre .This is a fantastic opportunity to lead on continuous development and improvement of nursing in providing high quality care to patients. It also calls for visible and inclusive leadership as part of a multi-disciplinary team and other teams across the service. In this role you will be required to support the ongoing relational security, trauma informed care and reducing restrictive practices initiatives.

Main duties of the job
To be successful in this role, you will need to be enthusiastic, forward thinking and have a keen interest in working with patients being nursed in learning disability inpatient or community services. Our expectation is that you will be highly motivated and dynamic and able to demonstrate quality therapeutic interactions with service users.
You will work closely with members of the wider multi-disciplinary team to offer recovery focused individual and group work with patients with a wide range of needs.
Our care and treatment programmes are underpinned by principles of recovery and social inclusion and much of our work is co-produced with patients. You will help to ensure that the people we care for always have a strong voice. If you are committed to providing outstanding patient care with a sound knowledge of best practice, this is the opportunity for you.
