Are you keen to work in a supportive acute ward dietetic team and build your experience in the dietetic management of patients on our stroke unit?

Due to a vacancy within the Nutrition & Dietetic service we have an exciting opportunity for a Specialist Dietitian to join our team. You will work mainly in the acute setting but also work closely with colleagues in community team giving excellent transfer of care for patients.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will support the acute team lead to deliver and develop the dietetic service to all in-patients wards at Harrogate District Hospital. This post is primarily in-patient based with some outpatient clinic work. You willpredominantly work in stroke, with some respiratory, haematology and cardiology. You will also have the opportunity to develop your skills in intensive care and TPN supporting cover for the gastro/surgical dietitian.

This post is an excellent opportunity to develop your experience and knowledge base in enteral feeding, and the dietetic management of stroke patients. The post holder will also work on other speciality wards and contribute to other departmental projects, audits and supervision.

Qualifications

Essential

• HCPC registration
• Member of the BDA

Experience

Essential

• Qualified as a Registered Dietitian
• Has gained experience of different ways of caseload management and delivering services
• Training and presentation skills using a variety of teaching methods for both individuals and groups

Desirable

• Involved with practice placement training of students
• Post graduate experience in supporting patients following a stroke

Knowledge

Essential

• Can demonstrate abilities in organisation skills, time management, setting priorities, managing a small workload / caseload
