Main duties of the job
When applying please specify your hospital preference and if you have a specific area of interest that you would like to work within. We will try to accommodate your requests however this may not always be possible.
The 3 'must haves' to be considered for this role:
- Must have completed preceptorship year with NMC pin.
- Must have signed off or be working towards competence in the following skills: cannulation, suturing and Intravenous Administration
- Must have some experience of supervising student midwives, return to practise midwives or supernumerary midwives.

- Midwifery degree or equivalent
- Mentorship or full SSSA preparation
- Registered Midwife (on NMC register)

- NIPE/EON
Experience

- Completed 1 year post registration clinical experience working as an RM in the UK
- Completed preceptorship course if applicable

- Scrubbing in theatre
- Worked within a continuity of carer pathway previously
Skills
Essential
- Excellent communication skills
- The ability to be flexible
- Knowledge of obstetric Emergency skills and drills and the ability to perform in an emergency situation
- IV drugs administration and cannulation

- Involvement in quality improvement projects
- Worked as shift leader
- FSRH letter of competency for contraceptive implant insertion
