We are recruiting a static band 6 Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist to join the Hospital at Home Integrated Nursing and Therapy team within South Tees and help support some of the initiatives being implemented in the community.

South Tees Hospitals NHS Trust Community Collaborative are working hard to improve the offer of community services ensuring that the local population across Middlesbrough, Redcar and Cleveland receive support in their own homes. As a result there has been changes to service provision recently meaning that services can be delivered by the right member of staff in the right place at the right time.

South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest teaching hospital trusts in the country, close to the North Yorkshire Moors and within easy reach of Newcastle and Leeds. It comprises two acute hospitals, James Cook University Hospital and Friarage Hospital Northallerton and a number of community hospitals and community services. Therapy services at South Tees NHS trust are also part of the wider Integrated Therapy service in Middlesbrough, Redcar & Cleveland.

Main duties of the job

You will also work closely with the Urgent community response team to help step up and step down patients to help prevent deconditioning and unnecessary admissions to hospital.

The post holder will be expected to have experience in both acute and community care, and have gained experience across a variety of specialities to help manage patients with various acute and long term conditions. As services are delivered across the Redcar and Cleveland Locality there is an expectation that you will have an ability to work flexibly and travel independently within the community.

Support and in-service training will be provided to develop your skills, knowledge and understanding of the role. This post offers development in clinical and leadership skills and the post holder will be supported to attend relevant post graduate courses. We have an established and comprehensive training programme and our staff have �1000 allocated funding each to support in their CPD. There is also an expectation to actively participate in audit and research and the Hospital has close links with both the University of Teesside and Durham University.

After you complete this four and a half days of training you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities, we offer further in-house courses dependent upon your role and bitesize programmes and leadership apprenticeships at level 3,5 and 7.

Qualifications

  • To hold a Diploma or Degree awarded by professional body
  • Registered as fit to practice by professional body, e.g. Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Evidence of Post Graduate clinical training/ development
