Job description

Job responsibilities

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced registered nurse (or another relevant healthcare professional) to join our team as the Deteriorating Patient Lead. This Band 8b role is crucial in ensuring the Trust delivers exceptional care for patients all ages including children and babies excluding neonates experiencing clinical deterioration. The post holder will have operational and strategic responsibility for critical care outreach teams, sepsis team, rhesus team, hospital at night and implementing and managing Marthas rule across West Herts to ensure business plans, budgets, workforce, and staff development are in place to deliver quality service for the division and Trust.

Person Specification

Education

Essential

  • Registered Nurse/ AHP
  • Post registration qualification in Critical care and minimum education to Degree but working/willing to work towards Masters.
  • ALS Trained
  • Non-medical prescriber or working towards.


Desirable

  • MSc Clinical practitioner.


Knowledge

Essential

  • Substantial post-registration experience, significant experience and 8A and in acute and critical care settings.
  • Experience of working as outreach or equivalent
  • Current knowledge of clinical practice in acute setting.


Experience

  • Implementing complex change
  • Knowledge of current developments in the NHS, Nursing, AHPs.
  • Developing staff
  • Budget management
  • Experience of influence externally
  • Experience of prioritising and managing multiple projects to deadlines.
