Main duties of the job
The Antenatal and Neonatal Screening Co-ordinator/Maternal Medicine (MM) lead midwife role will provide professional leadership, oversight, and support with regard to screening throughout pregnancy and the postpartum period. To ensure the provision and continuing effectiveness of a family centred antenatal and newborn screening and diagnosis service for the Trust, in line with the UK National screening committee (UKNSC) recommendations and national programme standards. This joint role will also support women accessing maternal medicine specialists and have oversight and sharing of individualised care plans with the wider maternity team, and liaising with the maternal medicine network
The post holder will be centred on clinical and service development within maternal medicine and screening. They will support the implementation of effective care pathways for pregnant women and birthing people with complex medical conditions across the Maternal Medicine Network, with a key focus on addressing inequalities in all aspects of care.
