italk is an exciting, transformative, and expanding psychological therapies service and is looking to recruit High Intensity CBT Therapists.

We are part of Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust and are commissioned by North Hampshire, West Hampshire, South East Hampshire and Fareham & Gosport CCGs to deliver the IAPT service across Hampshire.

We are a strong partnership service comprised of a collaboration between Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust and Solent Mind charity. We strive to deliver a high quality, evidence-based, service user-centred therapy service, to the population of Hampshire. We are looking to employ High Intensity CBT Therapists to deliver high quality therapeutic interventions to our local residents.

We are developing our Long-Term Health Conditions pathway and working with those who also present with physical health related problems both individually and through our emerging group programmes this offers those who work with our team plenty of opportunities to enhance their job satisfaction by learning more about this area and developing skills.

Main duties of the job

You will provide a combination of face to face and online based high intensity cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) in line with NICE guidance. We value training and qualifications in other high intensity therapies and will support those wishing to develop their careers by training in other recognised modalities.

You will work with clients who present with a range of complex anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder and depression related problems at step 3 for which CBT is demonstrated to be clinically effective, carrying out face to face, telephone and web camera assessments as part of their caseload and in accordance with service needs and demands. Where appropriate provide supervision to the Band 6 Psychological Therapy staff.

This vacancy is offered as a permanent contract however, we are happy to talk flexible working hours. There is an expectation that all clinical staff offer two late evening clinics per week (12pm until 8pm). We have vacancies within our Hampshire locality teams. The post holder will be based in the Basingstoke & Alton team.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Qualification from High Intensity IAPT Course (Post Graduate Diploma)
  • OR
  • Equivalent:
  • e.g. A recorded/registered doctoral level qualification in clinical or counselling psychology/ a recorded/registered qualification in one of the following - nursing, social work, occupational therapy, arts therapy or a psychological therapy -- plus further post graduate qualification training in a psychological therapy which may be CBT or another IAPT appropriate evidence based therapy (i.e. IPT) to at least equivalent of a post graduate diploma
  • AND
  • BABCP Accredited
  • AND
  • Significant experience working as a psychological therapy practitioner and demonstrating the competences as required.
