Practice Educator (Part-time role 22.5 hours)
The Children's Community Nursing Team provides nursing care, coordination and case management of children with acute, highly complex and unstable long-term conditions in partnership with multiple health, statutory and voluntary organisations.
The Practice Educator role will support staff in the CCN team to develop skills required for all aspects of children's community nursing. The post holder will work clinically alongside staff and students to support with learning and development, as part of the wider Paediatric Nursing Practice Development team and by working clinically will ensure they are able to maintain their own clinical skills as a CCN and professional development.

Main duties of the job
To act as a role model and demonstrate expertise in delivering evidence based practice. To support Matrons in mentoring clinicalpractice and meeting professional development needs of all staff to ensure that patient care standards and their experience are exemplary and any poor practice is identified and action plans implemented. The post holder will work alongside the senior management team to implement robust governance in relation to staff training and development, NICE guidance, the development of policies and procedures relating to children's community nursing and staff training and support following clinical incidents and RADAR reviews.
The post holder will work in accordance with the Department of Health, Nursing and Midwifery Council and trust policies relating to infection control, safeguarding children/adults, standards of recordkeeping, medicines management, learning disabilities, privacy and dignity and other policies as appropriate to the designated areas.Be responsive to the changing needs within the Directorate in relation to local and national policy and guidance.
