An exciting opportunity has arisen within the PACS Team at the University Hospitals of North Midlands for an enthusiastic and energetic individualwith excellent IT troubleshooting skills.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will have degree in IT, formal IT qualifications to degree level or the equivalent recent work experience in an IT related field. They will work within a small team to support the Imaging Directorate and wider organisation in their use of Imaging specific IT systems & solutions. They will provide 1st & 2nd line IT & system support to Trust & non-Trust users for hardware & software solutions, liaise with suppliers & IM& T colleagues to determine & implement fixes & support the PACS Manager in project related tasks.
The Imaging service is a high user of cutting edge IT, the PACS Team manage solutions including the Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS), Radiology Information System (RIS), high powered reporting workstations, voice recognition, advanced image manipulation packages & a number of AI image interpretation solutions. The successful candidate will become an expert in supporting these solutions, training new users, troubleshooting issues & performing system administration the smooth running of these systems is critical to the delivery of quality patient care.
Key relationships will be with clinical & non-clinical staff of all levels, from across the Trust & the wider local health economy as well as IM& T colleagues & external suppliers.
The role requires a physical presence on site where there is an element of face to face user support. The main office is on the Royal Stoke site, and the post holder will go to other sites as required.
