As an IT Network Engineer you will be joining a small team of technical staff who's aim is to provide the most efficient and reliable IT Network Infrastructure on which to support the Trusts digital systems.
The primary focus of the role will be to progress the continuing upgrade of the network infrastructure across the Trust, and work to support our staff with any network related issues reported into the ticketing system.
Main duties of the job
The role requires a candidate who is skilled in diagnosis and resolution of network related issues received through our service desk. They will be required to understand how the network infrastructure supports Trust services and applications to ensure all stakeholders needs are met.
The role will be required to perform security changes in line with direction from the Digital Security Group, including reviewing existing firewall configurations and submitting proposed changes for review.
Trust network assets will be updated by the post holder to ensure accurate records are maintained for the purposes of audit and replacement lifecycle.
The post holder will be expected to travel between Trust sites as required, this may include the transportation of network equipment.

Essential
- Level 5 qualification in recognized IM& T field or equivalent experience in a role
- Evidence of post qualifying and continuing professional development
- ITIL qualification-foundation
- Access to transport at all times to cover on-call and site visits as part of the role
Desirable
- CCNA or equivalent certification

- Relevant experience in an IT Infrastructure / Communications environment
- Experience of configuring a range of Cisco products in wired and wireless network environments
- Knowledge of Data Network topology / environments
- Practical knowledge of IP telephony
