We currently have a permanent vacancy in Barnet Renal Dialysis Unit for Band 6 Junior sister/ Charge Nurse with an interest in renal nursing to join a friendly and committed team at Barnet Renal Dialysis Unit (a 16-station) Haemodialysis satellite units of the Royal Free NHS Foundation Trust. .

We are passionate about providing only the best for our renal patients and are looking to recruit a dynamic and enthusiastic renal nurse. This is an excellent opportunity for a renal nurse to gain management experience. The post holder will work collaboratively with the MDT, medical and nursing teams to deliver safe, high quality, and effective care.

We require a nurse with substantive haemodialysis experience, with a post registration qualification in renal nursing and be in possession of a recognized mentorship course or qualification

  • First level registration
  • First level degree in nursing or working towards
  • Evidence of post-registration education/qualification relevant to specialty/renal course

Experience

  • Significant post registration experience of working in an acute hospital setting/renal unit
  • Evidence of experience in conducting quality audits
  • Evidence of skills in managing junior staff
  • Experience of co-mentoring and assessing student nurses on placement

  • Knowledge of current advances and pathways of care relevant to specialty
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to negotiate and influence
  • Skilled in use of computer/keyboard
  • Knowledge of clinical governance issues e.g. handling complaints, clinical risk management
  • Ability to problem-solve, prioritise and to work to deadlines
  • Ability to develop collaborative working relationships with multi professional teams
  • Able to manage stressful situations and challenge decisions to ensure that patient needs are met
  • Able to lead, manage and motivate others in complex problem solving and assessment skills
