We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 Registered Nurse to work alongside our current Sister in Ophthalmology Outpatients on a part time basis.
The role is based at our busy Axminster Hospital site, which is part of the West of England Eye Unit, Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
The successful candidate will share our passion for patient centred, safe effective care. They will be someone who can support and lead the Ophthalmology Outpatient team and work within a multi-disciplinary team who provides an excellent patient experience.
Previous experience within Ophthalmology or an Outpatient setting is desirable but not essential as full training can be provided.

West of England Eye Unit (WEEU) Axminster Outpatients is a vibrant busy department, which is expanding its Clinical and Patient diagnostic services in a range of Ophthalmic specialities. Including Glaucoma, Medical Retina & Macular, Oculoplastic and Cataract pathways. Located in a friendly Community Hospital with free staff parking onsite.
Due to increasing our Clinical activity, we are seeking to recruit a Senior Registered Nurse to work alongside our current Ophthalmology Outpatient Sister, leading the Outpatient team at our Axminster Hospital site.
The post holder will work closely with the Medical team and Senior Management to ensure that they provide Clinical leadership to the Nursing and Multi-disciplinary team across the department. They are a role model for all staff, and will positively co-ordinate the day to day operations of the service as well as seeking opportunities for developments with innovative ideas.
You may occasionally need to offer support and work across our other sites located in Exeter, Sidmouth and Tiverton.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a wonderful team.
Working Pattern: 19 hours over two working days 8am - 6pm, Monday to Friday
