We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Deputy Department Leader to provide essential support to the Department Leader and relevant personnel in delivering high standards of holistic child and family-centered care at King's Mill Hospital. As Deputy Department Leader, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the provision of top-tier care through individualized assessments of each child and fostering a culture of family-centered care.

Knowledge Requirements

Essential

  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Enthusiastic, receptive
  • Ability to work under fluctuating workloads

Qualifications

Essential

  • First level registered children nurse
  • Teaching qualification


Desirable

  • Working toward leadership qualification or equivalent.
  • NVQ 3 assessor/ Mentor
  • Teaching Qualification
  • ECDL


Further Training

Essential

  • Mandatory update
  • PILS
  • Venepuncture


Desirable

  • Appraisal Trained
  • Recruitment and retention
  • Sickness absence
  • Appraisal
  • Knowledge of the importance of Clinical Supervision

Experience

  • Significant Post Registration Experience
  • Flexible with diversity of role
  • Deputises for Department Leader for outpatients in their absence
