We have a new opportunity for a band 5 staff nurse in rheumatology to support the rheumatology day case infusion service and care provided to patients with osteoporosis.

Main duties of the job

Administer day case infusions under supervision of rheumatology specialist nurses

Provide care and support to patients with osteoporosis

Support the multidisciplinary team in an out-patient setting

Advises on the promotion of health and the prevention of illness and act as a point of contact for patients receiving care from Rheumatology Out-Patient Services

Ensures administration arrangements for outpatients attending the department are made safely in line with Trust policies

Takes measures to ensure patient safety, reporting incidents, completingrelevant documentation and taking appropriate action to reduce risk to the patient.

Education and Qualifications


  • Registered nurse
  • Supervision of student nurses


  • SACT course



  • Previous experience in cannulation and phlebotomy
  • Previous experience and competence in administration of IV, IM and SC medications
  • Previous experience of working with a Multi-disciplinary team


  • Knowledge of Word and Excel
  • Time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills
