We are looking for an experienced Band 7 SLT to work with children with a wide range of complex needs.
You will join the complex needs team, and have responsibility to lead the dysphagia service for children from 0 - 19 years. You will manage children across children's centres, schools and wards with support from the wider Paediatric Team across Cwm Taf Morgannwg UHB. You will provide management and leadership for the SLT's and TI's providing to our caseloads.
The children's SLT Team uses Malcomess Care Aims and Advanced Decision Making principles across the service in conjunction with many of the MDT Team. The children's SLT service has a range of clinical specialist posts available for support and second opinions and staff are fully support by both a line management structure , Band 8 Paediatric Leads and an Admin Team.

Main duties of the job
To lead the dysphagia service for babies and children.
To provide highly specialist speech & language therapy to babies and children and young people with a range of highly complex communication and swallowing disorders.
To work effectively in a multidisciplinary health team in managing babies and young children with complex health and learning difficulties.
Providing input to families of children in stages of grief as a result of childhood ill health and disability.
To function independently in the highly specialist assessment, diagnosis, development and implementation of appropriate speech and language therapy care packages for babies and very young children, with specific duties for children with complex communication and/ or feeding disorders.
Cwm Taf Morgannwg SLT department are a friendly and compassionate team who place a strong commitment to supporting staff well-being, supervision and continued professional development.
The children's SLT Team uses Malcomess Care Aims and Advanced Decision Making principles across the service in conjunction with many of the MDT Team.
