We are looking to appoint two enthusiastic, motivated and committed nurses to join our Nurse Endoscopist Team.
This will be a training post, initially at band 6. Full training will be given and access to relevant courses provided. As training progresses, the post holder will undertake both upper and lower GI endoscopy training and if not done already, will complete the non-medical prescribing course. Banding will be reviewed once this has been completed. Ultimately, the successful applicant will work within the team of Nurse Endoscopists carrying out OGD's, flexible sigmoidoscopy and colonoscopies. As part of this team, you will help to develop Endoscopy services within the Trust.
We have a busy and growing JAG accredited department consisting of 4 Endoscopy rooms. These posts will also support the opening of a new Community Diagnostic Centre, providing an additional 2 Endoscopy rooms, opening in October 2024. You will be responsible for the delivery of high standards of care and will work against JAG quality standards. The post will be based within the Endoscopy Unit at The Great Western Hospital, however, will also be expected to work at other sites.
Potential applicants are invited to informally visit the department prior to interview.
