The successful applicant will work closely with Clinical Service lines (CSL) Quality Governance Lead in supporting specific service lines in the management of:
Incidents , Nice Compliance, clinical audit , CQC action plans and patient safety related governance, in line with policy, national and local audit and NICE compliance, regulatory compliance and other quality governance activity. The post holder will support promotion of best practice in relation to quality governance and effectiveness and the facilitation of activities which generate learning to support quality improvement within CSLs
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will liase with staff in the clinical service line and support with decision making around the management, triage and reporting of incidents. They will form an exceptional relationship with the service lines auditors and support in forward audit planning, the registration of audits and the monitoring of the audits and outcomes.
o To facilitate and support the CSL risk assessment and risk register management processes to ensure CSL risk registers are effectively populated and ensure that risks are mitigated and controlled.
o To work alongside clinical audit leads within specialties to develop and implement an audit programme that supports the needs of the organisation in relation to clinical governance and quality improvement, including the Care Quality Commission compliance requirements and HQIP
o Present reports/presentations on CSL progress on a regular basis as required and also support the delivery of training to develop staff competency in quality governance processes such as investigation and audit

Working with the Clinical Service lines (CSL) Quality Governance Lead, facilitate the implementation of a CSL quality governance and effectiveness programme linked to the local service line and Trust priorities To facilitate and support the CSL risk assessment and risk register management processes to ensure CSL risk registers are effectively populated and ensure that risks are mitigated and controlled. To work alongside clinical audit leads within specialties to develop and implement an audit programme that supports the needs of the organisation in relation to clinical governance and quality improvement, including the Care Quality Commission compliance requirements and HQIP To facilitate production of a rolling programme of review of compliance in relation to local and national guidance, including the National Institute of Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) guidance and standards. To ensure that locally developed clinical guidelines follow due procedure, are ratified and effectively distributed, disseminated and monitored within the CSL To support CSL responsibilities in relation to external accreditation and inspection To build and develop information resources pertinent to quality governance and effectiveness as a resource for the CSL and facilitate the CSL reports in conjunction with the CSL Quality Governance Lead Present reports/presentations on CSL progress on a regular basis as required and also support the delivery of training to develop staff competency in quality governance processes such as investigation and audit To co-ordinate and support CSL quality governance meetings, take minutes, and maintain and develop internal and external networks as required. To support investigations for incidents as required within CSLs Work with the CSL Quality Governance Lead to assemble and analyse information in ways that help the clinical service line staff to reflect on their service and practice. To support sharing of learning particularly related to serious incident investigations and After Action Reviews
Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills when dealing with all levels of staff across the trust using persuasion, tact and reassurance where necessary. Manage responses from internal and external sources during the course of carrying out quality governance tasks as required. Develop positive communication pathways with lead clinical service line staff and promote partnership working to support all quality governance and effectiveness issues.

- Educated to Degree level or equivalent level of experience.
- Demonstrable evidence of on-going education

- Management or project management qualification or working towards (e.g. Diploma in Management Studies or PRINCE 2)

- Demonstrable experience of involvement in the facilitation of improvement activities at a either divisional / clinical service line level
- Experience of supporting clinical effectiveness and improvement through use of NICE standards and guidance
- Experience of facilitating initiatives that impact process and quality improvement
