We are looking for an enthusiastic and adaptable Urgent Care Nurse to join our strong and progressive team in Folkestone in the South Kent Coast locality of Kent.

The South Kent Coast is made up of a diverse patient group with complex needs and by working in a community-based way we can ensure that services are targeted and patient-focused, and we are proactive in our input and response.

Main duties of the job

You will play a vital role in our multidisciplinary services managing patients with complex needs in the community. You'll have the freedom to plan care in your own way, with time to develop your assessment and treatment skills, and access to structured supervision and a clinical lead to make sure you are supported.

You'll be supporting junior colleagues with clinical development, helping them to reach their potential and develop the workforce of the future.

You will be required to drive between patient homes and work sites and will need to provide your own transport to achieve this.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Registered health care professional (NMC or HCPC registration) / minimum of 2 years of experience in health improvement environment Must have valid UK NMC PIN


Desirable

  • Evidence of Specialist qualifications relevant to area of practice (examples non-medical prescribing mentorship, coaching, clinical expertise) Health related degree and evidence of relevant post graduate development at Level 6 PTLLS/DTLLS, PGCE or Certificate in Education Management or supervisory qualification or experience of study Working towards Master level study


Experience

Essential

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in area of practice Practical experience in managing health related projects/complex caseloads Supporting others (mentor / educator / supervisor) experience


Desirable

  • Experience of leading and managing teams Experience with the use of Microsoft Office and a variety of IT packages (E-Pay / E-roster/ AT-P/ RiO)


Knowledge

Essential

  • Understanding of National Service Frameworks and NICE guidance to relevant to care setting and its application across health care services Evidence of continued relevant professional development and implementation in practice within the last 12 months


Skils & Abilities

Essential

  • Understanding of training needs in relation to post Ability to manage time effectively, priorities and work under pressure to meet deadlines Ability to work effectively with a variety of people at all organisational levels across different sectors including areas of social deprivation Ability to communicate complex, sensitive information to individuals and groups Strong influencing and negotiating skills
