We are looking for a highly motivated, hard-working health care professional to undertake training to become a sonographer. You will be required to demonstrate excellent communication skills, enjoy working as part of a multidisciplinary team and be resilient. You should be accurate in your work, with attention to detail and focus on complex tasks. Although we will provide training for the IT systems used you will have to learn new systems at pace and embrace innovation in healthcare technology. You will need to be committed to achieving this qualification as it requires participation in training and competency program. You must be able to balance work, study and home life as the course provider recommends up to 8 hours private study in addition to the clinical training. Additional study leave is provided on a pro-rata basis. Training avenues are a combination of Obstetrics, general medical and Musculoskeletal or General medical, Obstetrics and Vascular. The training post provides the opportunity to gain the required experience and qualification(s) needed to operate as a Sonographer.

The salary for this training post is Band 6 Annex 21 you will receive 27 days annual leave per year plus Bank Holidays. On completion of your training and preceptorship you will move onto Band 7.

The post holder will be working towards this job description whilst undertaking a training scheme over 18 -24months, under supervision, to achieve a PgDip in general medical ultrasound.
